Grant Application Guidelines
Anyone interested in applying for a grant from the NC Wildlife Habitat Foundation is strongly encouraged to read these guidelines before attempting to submit an application.
INTRODUCTION
The North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation is a private, general purpose foundation with the mission of assisting in the acquisition, management and protection of wildlife habitat within the state of North Carolina and promoting conservation education for the benefit of future generations. The Foundation has the ability to make grants to both private and public organizations as well as any individual.
The Foundation also has the flexibility to make grants directly to other non-profit conservation groups as well as government agencies performing conservation programs and or research projects that enhance wildlife habitat in North Carolina. Out-of-state organizations are eligible to apply for funds only if their proposed projects are performed in North Carolina.
FOCUS AREAS
To accomplish its purpose and goals, the Foundation currently gives special attention to certain areas of focus:
- Wildlife Habitat Enhancements
- Land Acquisition
- Educational Endeavors
- Youth Conservation Education
While the listed areas of focus are of highest priority for its grant making, the Foundation also desires to serve as a catalyst for new wildlife management practices as well as ideas that address the challenges or opportunities that are unique to North Carolina’s Wildlife Habitat. Finally, the Foundation reserves the right to remain flexible in its grants making policies.
