Teena Koury, Vice Chairman
Teena is an owner of Carolina Hosiery Mills in Burlington NC. She also serves on the board of directors for Mid-Carolina Bank as well as the Burlington/Alamance County YMCA. She enjoys bow hunting for both deer and turkey. She also enjoys riding horses with her family and friends.

Scott Heffernan
Scott Heffernan was raised in Miami Florida. He moved to North Carolina in 1996 and founded Land Rover Greensboro. Scott currently operates two dealerships, Land Rover Greensboro and Land Rover Cape Fear (Wilmington North Carolina).
Scott has served on the board of the NCWHF since 2001. He is an avid fisherman, having traveled all over Central and South America, Canada and Alaska in search of the "Big One".
Scott resides in Greensboro with his wife Lauren and teenage children Codi and Shane.

John Preyer
Executive VP/Project Manager Operations
John Preyer is a co-founder and Executive Vice President of Restoration Systems. He oversees Restoration Systems' land acquisition and construction operations, as well as serving on the company management team.
John's work in environmental restoration goes back over 17 years to his work in the U.S. Senate for former Senator D.M. Faircloth, a member of the Committee on Environment and Public Works.
In this capacity, John dealt with a variety of federal and state agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the North Carolina Department of Environment & Natural Resources on environmental and regulatory issues affecting North Carolina.
In 1998, he joined George Howard in founding Restoration Systems. Since that time, the company has grown to 18 employees with offices in Raleigh and Greensboro, and is the largest North Carolina private mitigation company of its kind.
John was appointed by the DENR Secretary to serve on the Liason Committee for the Ecosystem Enhancement Program as a representative for private mitigation providers. He served on the board of the North Carolina Coastal Federation from 2002-2006 and was instrumental in obtaining the North River Farms restoration site, the largest wetland restoration project performed as an environmental group in North Carolina. He also served on the board of the North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation, a non-profit environmental group dedicated to preserving land for wildlife habitat.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina, John lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and family. He commutes to Raleigh and usually carpools with Reece.

Johnny Dinkins
Johnny Dinkins, a native of Greensboro, NC has played an active role in the NC Wildlife Habitat Foundation for over 10 years. Originator of the widely successful Acorn Open, he was the first to receive board member of the year in 2000. He enjoys hunting and fishing and is devoted to promoting the sports as well as conservation to our youth. Johnny has been a salesman with Guilford Plumbing Company of Greensboro for over 20 years. He is married and has a son and daughter.

Bachelor Of Science in Business UNC Chapel Hill, Outdoor enthusiast , father of three, married to Kim Dawkins Berry active in many Professional Organizations associated with petroleum industry,. past chairman NCWHF, active in several civic organizations, member of St Paul's Catholic church, enjoys swimming and outdoor actives associated with farm that borders Hyco lake.

Walt Knott
Walt Knott is President of Knott Financial Strategies Group and an avid outdoorsman. He is a 1995 graduate of North Carolina State University. Originally from Asheboro, he currently resides in Southport.
Walt began his career with Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem as a business analyst. In 1997 he left Wachovia to join Interstate/Johnson Lane as a Financial Consultant. In 2000, after Interstate/Johnson Lane was bought by Wachovia, he left to join Prudential Securities. Ironically Prudential was later bought by Wachovia which lead him to establish the Knott Financial Strategies Group, Inc. While serving as a Financial Consultant he authored a Practice Management Manual and was a featured columnist for On Wall Street Magazine.
After relocating his practice to Sunset Beach, he began to focus on the emerging real estate market. After completing his first condominium development in 2005, his development company experienced tremendous growth. His current projects are valued at over $130,000,000 and range from high rise condominiums to single family communities throughout Brunswick County.

Tracy Brooks is VP of Sales for Advanced Direct Inc. in Greensboro, NC. Tracy graduated from Appalachian State and enjoys spending time with wife Beth and their twins Robert and Claire on the Pamlico River.

Gregory Erwin
Greg was born and raised in Durham, NC. Since graduating from Elon University in 1994 he has been working for Erwin Oil Company, Inc. He is part of the 3rd generation operating this family business. He resides in Raleigh and enjoys many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, skydiving, snowboarding, and riding motorcycles.

John D. Goins
A native of Hickory, N.C., John resides in Hendersonville with wife, Julie -and son, Wilson. He is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College and is currently the President and COO for United Community Banks, Inc., N.C. (UCBI). John is extremely involved in numerous civic, community and charitable activities . He is an avid hunter / fisherman and has been a NCWHF Board Member for four years.

Born and raised in Laurinburg, NC. Eagle Scout. Graduated from Elon University with a bachelors degree in political science. Currently owns and operates The Green Drake which is a fly fishing retail and guiding business in Winston Salem, NC. Married to wife Anne from Raleigh, NC. Stewart and Anne have a three year daughter, Emma Claire.
